This is a robust BMS, with highly sensitive monitoring devices, such as reading out to 1,000th of a Volt when using the Bluetooth feature. It shows the several dozen parameters monitored, critical values for alerts or automatic protective action, historical trends, cell-by-cell discrete monitoring, and the ability to adjust parameter limits if you wish to have more conservative values. The BMS comes with factory-set default values for your Blue Heron Modular batteries.

The Bluetooth feature is comprehensive, and allows discrete monitoring, setting of parameters if desired, and a quick visual representation of the state of your battery and each of its cells. This is an ideal backup to your installed battery monitoring devices, and aids in maintaining long life of your lithium cells. We provide a detailed installation procedure with your BMS.

The Protective Box may be mounted on the side of a battery, or on a nearby bulkhead. Note the negative cable from the BMS to the battery is relatively short - about 6 in. The protective box dimensions are 6-3/4 X 4-3/4 X 2-1/4.

HIGH QUALITY Blue Heron BMS-120

This high-quality Blue Heron BMS-120 unit has an epoxy conformal coated circuit board to stand up to the rigors of the boating or RV environments. It is Bluetooth-equipped, allowing you to instantly see the status of the battery, and to adjust the factory default settings. You may want more conservative settings to ensure longer life of your battery, giving you the ultimate in operating flexibility and control. We provide a plastic Protective Box to protect the BMS board and its connections from impact. The Protective Box is not waterproof.

This BMS board is solely for a 4S battery, that is one with 4 cells in series, rated at 12.8V. One BMS unit is required per battery. If for example you have 4 modular Bue Heron batteries in parallel, you would need 4 of these BMS Modules, each attached to its own battery. The BMS Board and its Protective Box need to be secured close to the negative terminal of the battery. One can use zip-ties to attach the Protective Box to the steel straps on the end of the battery. This BMS has a lug to fit the 315Ah Modular battery. If you use this BMS with a 210Ah battery, you will need to cut the blue negative wire and crimp on a fitting to fit the 4-screw 210Ah battery terminal. This crimp-on fitting is provided with the battery.
